About us

Kipper is a community publishing company.

We create great magazines which are loved and enjoyed by the small communities in which they are distributed. We mix ultra local content for residents and connect them with amazing advertisers in the area.

We are a small but perfectly formed team...

David Tingley, director & editor

David started his career honing the Mac craft in a smoke-filled broom cupboard over 19 years ago! Since those heady days, he has done his time in creative design and now firmly believes in the power of helping and empowering local communities to develop. David launched Lindfield Life magazine in 2009 with his wife, Emma Tingley. He's not a big fan of the typeface Comic Sans, and if you're making tea, he'll have it black please!

Emily Billson, administrator

Emily has lived locally in Lindfield for fifteen years. Following a City career managing client relationships Emily has spent the last few years focussing on her three children. Now they are all settled in school Emily has decided it is time to get working again and is enjoying supporting a local business in what she does best, organised administration! Emily is also a keen baker and occasional runner.

Claire Cooper, assistant editor

Claire is an experienced journalist who began her career right here in Sussex, working for 'The Middy' when it was based in Haywards Heath. Claire works on Lindfield Life & Cuckfield Life has a great passion for the village. Her kids went to the local school and she has many connections with local groups and societies. If you see her dancing, she's probably practising Zumba!

Lucy Webb, assistant editor

Lucy works on Hurst Life magazine and is an unashamed raving fan of the village of Hurstpierpoint! Although her background is in fashion design, she’s a dab hand at writing, and spent four years as the fashion editor of International Textiles magazine. Lucy is the first point of contact for Hurst Life and loves nothing more than making wedding dresses and talking to fascinating local people for the magazine.
